The technology exchange and awards ceremony for the 5th Guangzhou Women Entrepreneurship (Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Creativity) Competition, themed "Empowering Women through Science and Technology: Setting Sail for Innovation," was held on March 10.
The competition aimed to implement the "14th Five-Year Plan" and to follow the "Guidelines on Implementing the Women's Science and Technology Innovation Action," promoting the execution of Guangzhou's innovation-driven development strategy. It provided a service platform for women's innovation and entrepreneurship, showcased the achievements from women innovators, enhanced women's entrepreneurial abilities, and encouraged more outstanding women in technology innovations and entrepreneurship to stand out. This initiative will unite and mobilize a large representation of women to contribute greatly in building Guangzhou as a "National Innovative City".
Since the project launch for the competition in December 2022, it attracted significant attention from women in the Science and Technology fields. After one month of project solicitation, nearly 60 companies from fields such as next-generation information technology, new materials, new energy, high-end equipment manufacturing, and biopharmaceuticals registered to participate. This competition is based on the 11th China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (Guangdong·Guangzhou Region) to conduct qualification reviews and verification of awards for the participating enterprises. Through the qualification screening, competition selection, and other criteria set by the competition committee, RECORNA (Guangzhou) Biotechnology Co., Ltd. was awarded the second prize in the Startup group.

Ms. Rong Xin, CEO of RECORNA Bio, attended the award ceremony as a winning company’s representative and spoke at the concurrent forum "Women in Science and Technology for Promoting High-Quality Development". She shared her innovative practices in daily work and field development. In her closing remarks, Ms. Xin encouraged all female Science and Technology workers to "bravely engage in the Science and Technology sector, strive to be role models, and pursue their dreams with determination and confidence."
This award not only signifies recognition of RECORNA Bio's innovative leadership and the created social value by Guangzhou Science and Technology Department and the competition committee, but also serves as an inspiration for more women to pursue their careers in Science and Technology and achieve their life goals. We believe that in the near future, more female entrepreneurs and Science and Technology workers can face challenges without fear, have confidence, and be at the forefront of China's technological development.
